Uncrate iMix 10.06

We're starting something new today. One Friday a month from now on, we're going to throw together an iTunes iMix of some tracks getting heavy rotation on the Uncrate iPods. They won't all be new, nor all old, but they will be our favorites. The iMixes will also be good for highlighting a song from an album that isn't good enough for us to recommend the entire thing. We'll try to keep them to 10 songs so you can download 'em for less than 10 bucks. Without further ado, Uncrate iMix 10.06. Track listing here.

1. Agenda Suicide by The Faint - This song is from way back in 2001, but has more 80's syth pop goodness and eerie darkness than anything out today.

2. Feels Good Being Somebody by Dios Malos - An awesome song from California indie rockers, with help from the producer of Modest Mouse and The Shins.

3. Stockholm Syndrome by Muse - An absolutely great rock track that we overlooked for the longest time while playing out Time is Running Out.

4. The Guitar Man by Cake - A great cover of the 1972 Bread song, with a tremendous beat.

5. I Am Weightless by Septembre - Fronted by the singer from Vex Red, this hard rock band is smart. And British... two things not easily found in this genre.

6. Notice by Gomez - So smooth. So perfect. So much better than the single "How We Operate."

7. Miss Murder by AFI - The entire album isn't good enough to make it on Uncrate, but this is a killer single with a superb screaming bridge.

8. Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand by Primitive Radio Gods - An instantly recognizable track from '96. The "I've been downhearted, baby" chorus is sure to get stuck in your head.

9. I Hate Everyone by Get Set Go - Admit it. You hate everyone too.

10. The Pioneers by Tunng - You may recognize this one from the recent Bloc Party album. It's another tune that we picked from our shameful watching of The O.C.
