Tell Uncrate: What Do You Want To Know About?

We've been asking all of you questions every Friday for a while now, so we thought it's about time that some of you get to ask the questions. So, what would you like to see a "Tell Uncrate" on? Whether it be about video games, outdoor sports, or knitting, we want to know what you'd like to hear more about from your fellow Uncraters. So let us know, and maybe you'll be asking the questions next week.

Would like to know about smaller variations of regular sized kitchen appliances (stoves, cooktops, ovens, refrig, etc.) Easy to find Eurporean appliances, but US manufactured appliances are hard to find. WIth the increasing number of people moving back to urban areas the need for smaller, fully functional + stylish appliances is increasing. I am currently remodeling a smaller kitchen and would really like to use some of the Euro appliances - they not only look better but their size options are a huge advantage. I would like to know if there are US options that are affordable or if there is anyway to get the Euro appliances to work in the US. Thanks.

I know this may not be the type of thing for Uncrate, but, one thing that I always wish a men's magazine or website would have is how to achieve popular hairstyles. I find myself trying all different products to get a certain look, yet nothing seems to work the way I want it to. I would love to be able to know how some guy celebs get their hairstyles.

I'd like to know how to get the 5 o'clock shadow look that many of the male celebs are pulling off... facial hair grooming tips mostly. Just not shaving for few days doesn't look quite as good as the infamous Dolce & Gabbana ad I'm trying to emulate. Shape I guess...

To achieve the five o clock stubble, you might want to use one of those hair cut sheer'ers and shave it to a stubble after you've let it grown for a couple days, thats what i do.

Would love to hear about good, new, and highly regarded wines. Stuff you can buy for $10-$30 a bottle (not $75)that's really good. Going to a store to buy a bottle of wine is daunting. Good recomendations for a good wine that won't break the bank are always helpful.

This isn't as much a recommendation for content as for the site.

How about letting us comment on posts OTHER than "tell us your . . ." stuff? I've often wanted to say something, i.e. if I've used a product before (and it's been great, or if it's been pure crap) and would love to endorse or knock it, but to no avail.

Your site is great, but it leaves a little to be desired. My impressions of Uncrate.com make me feel like this is the tech section of any mens magazine. You suggest cool products that range from appliances to a cool CD or DVD we should pick up. But I feel like I am missing the cool advice you get from the better mens magazines.

Why don't you have some more in depth articles on how to put together the ultimate action DVD collection, or how to put together the ultimate bedroom. Men like projects. Give me something to do with all this new cool stuff I just bought.

Home decorating hints. Like a lot of people I have moved into an unfurnished apartment, and its bare. Should I hang prints or paintings on the walls and will they hold?

What about other items, can plants survive indoors? Is there a bean bag that doesn't look childish and less than $100.

What about a humidor that can hold a decent number of cigars and without too much maintenance.

I second the idea for men projects.

I just moved into a small studio. It is brand new and very nice. I am not good at buying furniture and things to put in, but I can visualize the finished look I am going for.

I have looked all over the web, and cant find a site that can help me plan it out.

Maybe not for this site...but anyone have ideas?

I feel like uncrate needs to have a little better taste in Fashion. Some of the clothes and shoes you have posted on the site show some terrible taste. As much as i love this site and shop off of it a lot, i've never found a clothing item that is decent. Other than that i think you guys do a great job on gadgets, Phones, ipods, etc. You might want to feature more cars as well.

All very good ideas.. Camping, lunch stuff, "green" stuff, and projects sound great to me.

Marshall, I often buy clothes from fancy and expensive labels, but after the season is over or from a place like Nordstrom Rack. Nice, classy clothes can be found for a great discount that way, and when you're buying everything separately and at different times it never matches quite right. So when you put an outfit together from these parts your creativity and sophistication are automatically ingrained in your style of dress.

Comment I most agree with here is the fashion tips. For those of us that aren't hanging out in hip bars all the time or don't have a multitude of gay friends - how tf do we put together fashionable looks at a decent price. the denver hayes and golf shirts just ain't cutting it anymore. I don't want to yank out the suits but i'm sick of the khaki thang.

I agree with allowing comments on every post, i think that would at least double the amount of time i spent here each day.

I also agree with creating projects, maybe like one per week, love the idea of must have dvd's/books/cd's, maybe i-pod playlists.

of course more fashion and trendy tips would be very cool, and last i like the idea of giving tips on how to find affordable furniture/clothes that are still fashionable

I just want everyone to continue ignoring the point of this thread. In fact, I think all of this denigration is turning out to be much more entertaining. This 'Tell Uncrate' should be officially renamed.

So, in the spirit of things I want to see more posts. Competing websites nearly triple Uncrate’s rate of posting. Even though this site has more of a “sophisticated” vibe for the evolving male. And we all know that Quality trumps Quantity... Well, most of the time.
