Earth Day on Saturday reminded us once again that we could be doing a little more to help out this planet of ours. Even if you're not quite ready to become a Prius owner, you can make one quick and easy change that will make a big difference — replacing the light bulbs in your home with compact fluorescent bulbs ($6-$8). They use about 75% less energy, last up to 10 times longer, and produce 90% less heat than standard incandescent bulbs. Compact fluorescent bulbs fit right into a standard light socket, and can do wonders for your energy consumption and power bill. (Note that a 20 watt CFL bulb is the equivalent of a normal 75 watt bulb.)
