Block Lamp

Not all lamps have to be light-bulbs raised up by a base — take for instance the Block Lamp by Harri Koskinen ($98). The Block Lamp gives off ambient light by using a low-wattage bulb that is encased between two pieces of solid glass. It’s not just a lamp though — it’s a work of art, and is currently being exhibited at New York’s Museum of Modern Art and London’s Victoria and Albert Museum.
