Specktone Retro

Retro pieces are always hit-or-miss — they either nail the old-school styling, or look completely lame. The Specktone Retro ($150; June 12) nails the look with an all-wood cabinet that recalls the 50's (well, except for the built-in iPod dock) and comes in vintage green, black or white. The speaker system also packs a big punch when it comes to sound. With two three-inch drivers and a dedicated four-inch sub, the retro circuitry inside keeps the sounds coming out in line with the looks, whether you're listening to Buddy Holly or the Postal Service.
