My Ion Truss by Minus Story

In the mood for some down-beat, atmospheric rock this Valentine's Day? Check out My Ion Truss by Minus Story ($15/CD, $10/MP3). This diverse effort from the Lawrence, Kansas group was released last year, but its sound hasn't aged a bit. Terrific production lends polish to a band previously known for its "wall of crap" lo-fi sound, and vocalist Jordan Geiger's light voice could easily pass for Death Cabber Ben Gibbard's, which is a good thing. Standout Tracks: "Aaron," "Beast At My Side," "The Way Beyond."
