Mentor Tormentor by Earlimart

One wonders whether Aaron Espinoza's late great mentor Elliott Smith was inspiration for this album's title, but there's no doubt his presence is felt in the music found on Mentor Tormentor by Earlimart ($14). Filled with terrifically lonely songs, great melodies, and fantastic lyrics, Espinoza and bandmate Ariana Murray have made a true folk rock gem. Standout Tracks: "Answers and Questions," "Happy Alone," "Bloody Nose."
