Furr by Blitzen Trapper

The follow-up to 2007's excellent Wild Mountain Nation and the group's first album after signing with Sub Pop, Furr by Blitzen Trapper ($14) is the Portland group's best yet. Filled with Dylan-esque folkish rock, the album is strong from start to finish, and is without a doubt amongst the best albums of 2008. Standout Tracks: "Furr," "Black River Killer," "Not Your Lover."
