We've never really gotten into this franchise before, but we're changing our tune thanks to the Wii remote. Mario Party 8 ($50) lets you and your friends take part in mini-games, using the remote for things like rowing in a river race, punching a statue to pieces, steering race cars, and handling a balancing pole while walking a tightrope. Along with the dozens of mini-games, the disc also includes six new party boards and several new game modes. It may not be as fun as drunken Twister, but hey — we all have to grow up sometime. Or something.
