Daniel Day-Lewis won best actor for 2007's There Will Be Blood ($23), and after watching it, there's little doubt that he's one of the greatest actors to ever grace the screen. The film, P.T. Anderson's first in almost five years, is a loose adaptation of the Upton Sinclair novel Oil!. It follows the life of Daniel Plainview, a man so occupied with success that it consumes him, rendering him one sociopathic husk of a person. Strong performances all around with great cinematography and an amazing score composed by Radiohead's Johnny Greenwood, make this a must buy.
