The Crazies

Before you go to watch the upcoming remake, treat yourself to a viewing of the original. Directed by horror legend and creator of the Night/Dawn/Day/Land/Diary of the Dead zombie fests George A. Romero, The Crazies ($15-$17) is a dark yet thrilling 1973 take on the "infected town" genre, as citizens and the military are exposed to a government-developed germ weapon that causes either death or irreversible insanity. Filled with shocking scenes, fast-paced editing, and sometimes sub-par acting, it's one of Romero's little-known gems.
