I have a lot of ties and haven't been able to find a good way of storing them. Any suggestions out there?
For home, use a Maple Rotating Tie Rack
For travel: Roll them backwards (seam side out) starting at the narrower end and working your way up to the widest part. This gives the center some mass, and prevents wrinkling in your luggage, then you can just stuff them inside your shoes, or if you use shoe-trees, the pockets of your folded jeans.
Of if your ties are very expensive you can always get a Tie Caddy This lets you roll ties up in the plastic tube which prevents any damage.
Try this motorized tie rack. Tie Rack I have one and it holds about 40 ties and some belts.
If you are traveling and do not have a tie case, roll up the ties BACKWARDS (seam side out) starting at the large and and working towards the smaller end. This keeps your ties from wrinkling or being creased.
I use a tie hanger from Ikea. Komplement is just $7.99, and holds a ton of ties in a very small space.

I collect ties from the 1940s. With approx 150 of them, using a motorized tie rack became a hassle (I had 3). As a gift my wife bought me a chrome store tie rack along with the plastic hangers from a department store supply house. It works great and I can display my ties on our dresser instead of in my closet.

Store your ties in loose rolls by rolling each tie around your hand; this method of storing will prevent wrinkles from forming at awkward places along its length. I use the drawer inserts for socks to put my ties in.
