What are a good pair of gloves for use with a camera?
With winter right at our door, I am looking for a pair of gloves to wear when taking pictures with my DSLR camera. It needs good grip and a good tactile feel for when operating controls, button pushing, etc.
North Face Power Stretch, hands down. Thin enough to provide the dexterity needed to manipulate any of the controls, and warm enough to keep your hands from getting frozen solid. Thin enough to easily slip into some mittens or outer gloves as well.

I've found a good pair of gloves for shooting photos is one that's used for shooting firearms. Tactical gloves provide a good grip but still allow full control over your weapon of choice.
The Hatch Corp. makes a winter glove for law enforcement called the Winter Specialist version which has a Thinsulate/Hipora lining to keep your digits warm and dry. A synthetic leather on the palms and fingertips, except the index, provide a nice grip and feel but still allow you to get to the trigger... err, shutter button quickly.

If it is so cold that you can't take off your gloves, your batteries aren't going to last long enough to take more than one or two pictures anyway. You can keep batteries in your pocket to warm them, but down around 0 F they just won't last long enough to compose a good shot. (personal experience)

I usually just use my thin running or cycling gloves with windstopper (and optionally fleece) like the Gore Challenger
