Ahh, the fateful thermometer like tell-tale glow of drunkenness. While never suffering from this plight, it does bother one of my good friends. It is much less harmless on a girl, though.
It typically acts a gauge of your own personal soberness. So in my opinion, you've got only a few options.
- Become a Better Drinker
- Get Over It
- Plan Ahead
Becoming a better drinkers, takes practice and time to build up your liver. However, knocking back the occasional beer just to keep your face from turning red seems a bit overkill.
Getting over it. Ouch, rough...I know. Best bet would be to come up with a few witty remarks about your condition and play it off. People really don't care as much as you think they do and if you project an air of ease about it. They will too.
Planning ahead helps alot for any drinker. If you turn red because you get drunk too quickly, try and compensate beforehand with meals that can absorb more booze. Anything heavy on rice or bread is a help.
Also, keep in mind what kind of alchohol makes your skin flush when drinking. You may find that wine makes you red quickly but beer has less of an effect or vice versa.
At the end of the day though, if you're getting smashed with friends. No one cares about the color of your face. If it's business related...don't be afraid to pace yourself. We can't all be ruthless alcoholics after all.

Take a non-sedating antihistamine before drinking. Alavert, Claritin, Allegra, Zyrtec all do the trick.
