What is the best product or method for clearing up back and chest acne?
I would suggest Murad's Clarifying Body Spray which treats body breakouts. It is pressurized so you can spray it even if upside down to hit those hard-to-reach spots. It contains antibacterial Triclosan and pore-clearing Retinol and Salicylic Acid.
I had quite a bit of back and chest acne and my dermatologist told me to spend 15 minutes a day in the sun, without a shirt on. It actually worked too. If you are using a product on your chest and back though, you may want to check to see if it's alright to be out in the sun because sometimes they can make your skin too sensitive for the direct sunlight.
Best thing I found to eliminate acne altogether was to eat mostly whole foods, start taking a fish oil supplement and eliminating all Dairy products from my diet. Sounds simple but It worked wonders for my skin.
Seeing a dermatologist would be your best bet. A dermatologist can recommend prescription or over-the-counter products tailored to the type of acne that you have. As everyone's skin is different and there are various types of acne, it's best to have a regimen tailored to your needs.
There are also procedures that may or may not be appropriate for your condition, such as laser treatments, chemical peels, or microdermabrasion. These procedures can assist in the ridding of acne by destroying bacteria and removing excess oils, etc.
Clearly it's been said before, but visiting a doctor is THE way to go when dealing with acne. It doesn't even have to be a dermatologist, even your family doctor can prescribe acne meds that actually work. As long as you live in a country with a real healthcare system (no, not the US) you can clear your acne without paying a cent on overpriced products that don't work.
Clear. Now is one that I've only known it to be used on face, but has great results!
