Vega is a vegan protein supplement with the complete amino acid chain, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, good fats, carbs and fiber. It's an amazing and complete food more so than just a protein supplement.
I really like this supplement a lot. It's not as protein-dense as whey or egg white protein supplements, but its amino acid chain makes it a more complete protein than either of the ones I just mentioned.
The taste? Well, it'll put hair on your chest, but you learn to like it after a while. I also think that protein supplements should be just that--a supplement to real food, and real food, in my opinion, is much more desirable than anything else you can ingest.
I also recommend Greek-style yogurt to get some more protein if it doesn't cause any adverse reactions...or try goat's milk, which is usually easier to digest.
actually chocolate milk has most of the proteins/carbs you need for a recovery drink and it tastes delicious
Are you actually allergic to whey protein? Something in the powder? or Is it more likely that you are allergic because you are lactose intolerant? Having lactose related issues from whey protein is actually very common. Bloating and other symptoms occur. If that is the case then you need to start checking labels. There are many different types of whey proteins. My understanding is that Whey Isolate is lactose free and therefore should cause no issues. Again that gets tricky because the front of the package may say Isolate while the ingredients will include other types. I have found that the Isopure product which is 100% whey isolate has worked best for me.
